MCC Ruimu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has stared production at its Phase II project in Caofeidian, Tangshan. With a total investment of RMB1.34 billion (USD193 million), the second phase covers a land area of 196Mu (13.07 hectares) and includes new plants as well as upgrades from Phase I.
Combined with Phase I, the whole project will produce 50,000 tonnes of high-nickel ternary cathode precursors, 100,000 tonnes of battery-grade nickel sulfate, and 40 tonnes of high-purity scandium oxide annually, enough to supply around 500,000 electric vehicles. The project is expected to generate over RMB5 billion (USD720 million) in annual output and create around 700 jobs.
MCC New Energy ranks among the top ten global ternary precursor suppliers and is the world leader in scandium oxide production and sales. With Phase II ramping up, the company is on track to become the biggest battery-grade nickel sulfate producer in China.
