Hunan Dazhonghe lithium carbonate project breaks ground

On October 29, Hunan Dazhonghe Lithium Mine Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony in Linwu County for its new lithium carbonate project, which features an innovative process for the harmless and comprehensive utilization of lithium slag.
The project will enable the reduction, recycling, and safe treatment of lithium slag, achieving a lithium recovery rate of over 90% while also recovering valuable metals such as potassium, rubidium, and cesium.
Expected to be completed by 2028, the project will have an annual production capacity of 80,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate, generate about RMB12 billion (USD1.68 billion) in annual sales, and create around 500 local jobs.
