On July 11, Sinosteel International signed a feasibility study contract for the Dashkasan Iron Ore Project in Azerbaijan, marking its first cooperation with the state-owned AzerGold CJSC
Located near Ganja, Azerbaijan's second-largest city, the Dashkasan iron ore deposit is a strategic project with estimated magnetite reserves of nearly 200 million tonnes. As Azerbaijan currently has no active iron ore production, its steel industry depends heavily on imported steel scrap.
Under the contract, Sinosteel Equipment will conduct a full feasibility study, including resource assessment based on Chinese standards, lab testing, and design and economic analysis for a beneficiation plant, slurry pipeline, and pelletizing facility. Based on the study, Dashkasan Iron Ore will determine the project's economic scale and lay the groundwork for project implementation.
. The agreement was signed between their subsidiaries, Sinosteel Equipment and Dashkasan Iron Ore LLC.
