Baotou INST plans rare earth permanent magnet materials project

Baotou INST Magnetic New Materials Co., Ltd. and its planned subsidiary intend to invest in an integrated rare earth permanent magnet materials application project in the Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Zone. The total investment is estimated at RMB650 million (USD90.41 million), to be carried out in two phases, including RMB400 million (USD55.64 million) for the first phase (June 2025 to June 2027), and RMB250 million (USD34.77 million) for the second phase (June 2027 to June 2028).
The project will produce high-performance rare earth permanent magnet materials, multi-stage sintered magnetic rings, and bonded NdFeB components (both injection-molded and compression-molded), mainly for use in high-end drive motors, micro motors, and joint actuators.
The project aims to achieve high performance, cost efficiency, and large-scale production through technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Leveraging its years of technical expertise and the region's abundant rare earth resources, the company seeks to build an integrated industrial chain for rare earth magnet materials and their applications.
