Easpring Finland breaks ground on cathode material plant

On April 29, Easpring Finland New Materials Oy held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of its cathode material plant in Kotka, Finland, a joint venture between Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co
Established in March 2024, Easpring Finland New Materials Oy is 70% owned by Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co., Ltd . and 30% owned by FMG, a state-owned enterprise of Finland . The total investment for the project is approximately EUR800 million.
The facility is planned to have an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes for NCM (nickel-cobalt-manganese) materials and 300,000 tonnes for LFP (lithium iron phosphate) and LMFP (lithium manganese iron phosphate) materials. The first phase will have an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes of NCM.
