China Salt Lake commissions lithium extraction upgrade project

On March 8, the third phase of the technical upgrade project at the Yiliping production area of China Salt Lake Industry Group Co., Ltd. completed commissioning tests for its primary brine adsorption lithium extraction device. The facility is expected to reach full production standards by the end of this month.
Located in the Qaidam Basin, Qinghai Province, the phase III project covers a total construction area of approximately 12,000 sq.m. The project includes the development of a salt field pumping station, pipeline infrastructure, and a lithium carbonate production area.
Building upon an existing 10,000-ton-per-year lithium carbonate production line, the upgrade incorporates the primary brine extraction process to enhance efficiency. Upon completion, the facility will add an additional production capacity of 5,000tpa of lithium carbonate.
