On February 20, Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths (BRIRE) commenced construction of rare earth functional auxiliary materials production lines, with an annual capacity of 5,000 tonnes of rare earth composite flame retardants and rare earth polymer special materials and their products
As part of the rare earth green application initiative, the project features a self-developed rare earth polyolefin production technology that fills a critical gap in the industry. The resulting products are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and high-performing, paving the way for new applications in the polyolefin sector . The project is scheduled to begin operations in July 2025.
. The total investment for the project is estimated at RMB120 million (USD16 . 47 million).
