BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Apr 24 - Owing to increasing PrNd mischmetal prices, Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) suppliers lifted prices over the past week even though consumers still have no intention to purchase in bulk. As a consequence, the current Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices increase to RMB165-170/kg (USD22.8-23.5/kg) EXW T/T 60 days, up by around RMB4/kg (USD0.6/kg) from one week ago. Given that consumers prefer to delay purchasing rather than accept further prices and PrNd mischmetal prices begin to show potential stable prices, insiders predict that the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices would level off in the coming week.
A producer in Zhejiang province discloses that he lifts rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) quotation to around RMB178/kg (USD24.6/kg) EXW T/T 60 days and considers selling at about RMB170/kg (USD23.5/kg) for orders no less than three tons now, while he had intention to sell at around RMB165/kg (USD22.8/kg) one week ago. He last sold one ton at around RMB172/kg (USD23.8/kg) the day before yesterday. "I couldn't purchase PrNd mischmetal at prices lower than RMB500,000/t (USD69,049/t) EXW T/T 30 days now, while I could replenish stocks at around RMB485,000/t (USD66,977/t) one week ago," said the producer, who faces difficulty in increasing prices further and PrNd mischmetal prices show potential firm trend, so he predicts that the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) mainstream prices would level off in the coming week.
With an annual production capacity of 120t of rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block), the producer's outputs in 2023 and so far in 2024 recorded approximately 90t and 30t respectively. He estimates to produce around eight tons in April, without much change MoM. He doesn't have stock at present, in line with one month ago.
A consumer in Guangdong province claims that his regular rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) suppliers quote about RMB170/kg (USD23.5/kg) EXW T/T 60 days for him at the moment. Based on his experience, he could buy at around RMB168/kg (USD23.2/kg) at present, while he could purchase at about RMB164/kg (USD22.6/kg) one week ago. He concluded his latest procurement ten days ago, when he bought 10t at around RMB165/kg (USD22.8/kg). "I prefer to postpone procurements rather than accept further price increase as it's hard for me to lift finished magnet prices," said the consumer, who couldn't bargain for cheaper prices from suppliers and foresees stable prices in the Chinese rough sintered NdFeB magnet N52 (block) market in the coming week.
