BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Apr 24 - As suppliers have no inventory pressure and mark up their prices, mainstream prices for Chinese PrNd oxide stand at RMB378,000-383,000/t (USD52,228-52,919/t) D/P, up by RMB3,000/t (USD415/t) from yesterday
A consumer in Inner Mongolia revealed that he purchased 10t of PrNd oxide today from a regular supplier at RMB385,000/t (USD53,195/t) delivered D/P, while he just purchased about 10t of the material at RMB380,000/t (USD52,504/t) delivered D/P yesterday. "Despite the rising price of oxide, I have to accept it because I still need to replenish stocks for new orders," the consumer said, adding that as far as he knows, the spot inventory of upstream suppliers is limited at present, so prices for Chinese PrNd oxide might still increase slightly in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of about 3,000t, the consumer consumed about 240t last month and holds about 100t of stocks now.
A producer in Jiangsu indicated that he offered RMB385,000/t (USD53,195/t) D/P for PrNd oxide today and would not sell at lower prices. "I sold about 8t of PrNd oxide at RMB382,000/t (USD52,781/t) yesterday," the producer said, adding they don't have a large inventory in hand now and they are optimistic about the future price trend . They prefer to firm their price and hold back from selling for the time being, expecting to sell at better prices in the future.
With an annual production capacity of 1,800t, the producer produced about 140t last month and expects to produce the same volume this month.
