Chinese PrNd oxide prices keep firm

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Apr 24 - Due to the increased enthusiasm of downstream smelters to replenish stocks, the mainstream prices for Chinese PrNd oxide stand at RMB350,000-355,000/t (USD48,404-49,096/t) D/P today. In view of the weak demand from downstream consumers, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese PrNd oxide would remain at the current level in the coming week.
A consumer in South China revealed that the PrNd oxide quotation he obtained from a regular supplier today is RMB360,000/t (USD49,787/t) D/P and he can probably buy at a price of RMB356,000/t (USD49,234/t) according to his experience. "We just replenished about 50t of inventory at RMB345,000/t (USD47,713/t) two weeks ago and do not need to make further purchases for the time being", the consumer said, adding that unless downstream demand rises, otherwise the price of PrNd oxide is difficult to change significantly. He expects that the prices of Chinese PrNd oxide might keep relatively stable in the following week.
With an annual consumption volume of 5,400t of PrNd oxide, the consumer used 400t last month and expects to consume 450t this month.
A producer in South China noted that today he offers RMB357,000/t (USD49,372/t) D/P for PrNd oxide and considers selling the material at a price of no less than RMB356,000/t (USD49,234/t). "I just sold 10t at RMB354,000/t (USD48,957/t) D/P last Friday", the producer mentioned, adding that he would continue to wait on the sidelines towards the market. He believes that the prices of Chinese PrNd oxide would hover at the current mainstream level in the forthcoming week.
The producer has an annual production capacity of 1,200t of PrNd oxide.
