Chinese PrNd mischmetal suppliers feel bullish on price trends

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Apr 24 - As upstream raw material suppliers insist on their prices, today Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices stay firm at RMB432,000-437,000/t (USD59,748-60,439/t) EXW T/T 30 days. Supported by high costs, insiders believe that there would still be some mild increases in Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices in the coming week.
A producer in South China disclosed that today he provided no quotations for PrNd mischmetal yet, but he planned to sell at no lower than RMB441,000/t (USD60,992/t) with T/T payment terms to be accepted. "This morning there were clients who intended to buy from me at RMB440,000/t (USD60,854/t), but I refused," the producer said, adding that today he will continue to watch the market and hopes to get an ideal price for selling. He believed that Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices would edge up in the coming week.
The producer, on basis of an annual production capacity of 12,000t of PrNd mischmetal, produced about 500t last month and expects to have an output of about 650t this month.
Another producer in South China disclosed that today he planned to quote PrNd mischmetal at RMB445,000/t (USD61,546/t) and could sell at no lower than RMB441,000/t (USD60,992/t) with T/T payment terms to be accepted. "Last Friday we sold 8t at RMB442,000/t (USD61,131/t)," the producer said, adding that now supply of upstream PrNd oxide is tight and therefore supports PrNd mischmetal to some extent. He believed that Chinese PrNd mischmetal mainstream prices would remain firm in the coming week.
