BEIJING (Asian Metal) 2 Apr 24 – Despite the increased prices of raw materials, most sellers of chrome metal kept prices stable due to weak demand. The current mainstream prices of chrome metal 99%min stand at RMB63,000-64,500/t (USD8,690-8,897/t) EXW D/P, stable from late last week
"We maintained price for chrome metal 99%min stable at RMB64,000/t (USD8,828/t) EXW D/P in the past two weeks, while could accept RMB63,500/t (USD8,759/t) for firm bids", a producer in North China noted. They did not close any deals today and sold about 10t at RMB63,500/t (USD8,759/t) late last week . Despite the increased prices of raw material, they hold watchful attitudes and would keep price stable at the moment . They predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese chrome metal would keep flat within this week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 36,000t of chrome metal, would produce about 500t in April, stable from last month. They hold no stocks at the moment, unchanged MoM.
Another producer in Sichuan noted that they quoted RMB64,000/t (USD8,828/t) EXW D/P for chrome metal 99%min today and would like to sell at RMB63,000/t (USD8,690/t) for firm bids, stable from early last week. "Though prices of raw materials increased, we maintained price stable due to weak demand", said the producer, who last sold about 30t at RMB63,000/t (USD8,690/t) in the middle of last week . They anticipate that the mainstream prices of Chinese chrome metal would keep flat within this week.
On basis of an annual production capacity of 10,000t of chrome metal, the producer plans to produce about 800t in April, almost identical to last month. They have no inventories presently, stable from early last month.
