BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Apr 24 – Despite most buyers purchased actively this week, most sellers kept prices stable. Currently, the mainstream prices of South African chrome concentrate 40%min stand at Rand3,400-3,600/t (USD180-190/t) D/P in Johannesburg warehouse, stable from early last week
A trader in South Africa noted that they kept price of chrome concentrate 40%min stable at Rand3,500/t (USD185/t) D/P in Johannesburg warehouse in the past two weeks. "We sold about 500t at Rand3,500/t (USD185/t) early this week and sold about 1,000t at the same price late last week to regular clients", said the trader, who has no plan to adjust prices next week and predicts that the mainstream prices of South African chrome ore would keep stable in the coming week.
The trader, with a regular monthly trading volume about 4,000t of chrome ore, would sell about 4,000t in March, stable from last month. They hold no stocks at the moment.
"We would like to sell chrome concentrate 40%min at Rand3,500/t (USD185/t) D/P in Johannesburg warehouse this week, stable from last week", another trader in South Africa mentioned. They sold about 1,000t, which would be shipped next week due to the Easter holiday, at Rand3,500/t (USD185/t) early this week, while they closed no deals last week .
