BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 24 - Dragged by soft demand from consumers, the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min market witnessed limited buying activities over the past week. The current Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices dropped to RMB5,250-5,450/kg (USD729-757/kg) EXW D/P, down by about RMB100/kg (USD13.9/kg) from one week ago. In view of buyers' wait-and-see attitudes, insiders forecasted that the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices still have room to go down in the forthcoming week.
A consumer in North China noted that his regular terbium oxide 99.99%min suppliers lowered quotation to about RMB5,350/kg (USD743/kg) EXW D/P for him this Tuesday. Based on his experience, he could replenish stocks at around RMB5,250/kg (USD729/kg) at present, while he faced difficulties in purchasing at prices below RMB5,350/kg (USD743/kg) one week ago. "I last bought one ton of terbium oxide 99.99%min at around RMB5,200/kg (USD722/kg) early this month," said the consumer, who held wait-and-see attitude over the past two weeks due to sliding prices. He predicted that the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99%min mainstream prices would go down by around RMB100/kg (USD13.9/kg) in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 72t of terbium oxide 99.99min, the consumer's outputs in 2023 and so far in 2024 recorded approximately 48t and 11t respectively. He expected to use around 3.7t month this month, compared with about 5.5t last month. He holds an inventory of around 500kg at present, down by 200kg MoM.
A consumer in South China disclosed that his regular terbium oxide 99.99min suppliers quoted about RMB5,400/kg (USD750/kg) EXW D/P for him today. Based on his experience, he couldn't bargain for cheaper prices if he would replenish stocks at present, while he could buy at about RMB5,500/kg (USD764/kg) one week ago. He concluded his latest procurement the day before yesterday, when he bought 50kg at around RMB5,400/kg (USD750/kg). "I plan to hold a wait-and-see attitude towards the market in the coming week," said the consumer, who predicted that the Chinese terbium oxide 99.99min mainstream prices still have room to go down in the coming week.
