Ganzhou Jiexing plans to increase output of LMO

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Mar 24 - Ganzhou Jiexing Material Technology Co, a major producer of LMO in China, plans to increase their output to about 1,900t in March, while they only produced about 900t last month, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
"In February, our LMO was only for external sales, so we only produce about 900t of LMO in that month. However, in March, our production increased significantly as our LMO would be sold both externally and for our own use", said the source.
With an annual production capacity of 30,000t, the producer plans to produce about 1,900t in March, while they produced about 900t last month. They hold no stock now. The producer produced about 8,300t in 2023 and around 2,200t in the first two months of this year.
Today, the mainstream prices of Chinese LMO stand at RMB37,000-39,000/t (USD5,152-5,431/t) delivered D/A 180 days, without much change from late last week. Given the increasing prices of lithium carbonate, insiders estimate that the mainstream prices of Chinese LMO would move up this week.
