Ganfeng Lithium has received board approval to acquire, or through its holding subsidiary, no less than 14.8% equity interest in Argentina-based Proyecto Pastos Grandes S.A. (PGCO) for up to USD70 million, most of which will be used to develop Pastos Grandes lithium salt lake project which will mainly produce battery grade lithium carbonate, with capacity still under construction.
PGCO has started the latest round of mineral resource estimate for Pastos Grandes project and updated resource is expected to reach roughly 6 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent.
