A producer in North China revealed that he held samarium metal 99.5%min quotation firm at about RMB80/kg (USD11.1/kg) EXW T/T 30 days and considered selling at around RMB79/kg (USD11.0/kg) today, the same as one week ago. He last sold two tons at around RMB79/kg (USD11.0/kg) early this month . He faced great difficulty in purchasing samarium oxide 99.9%min at prices lower than RMB13,500/t (USD1,875/t) EXW D/P now, unchanged from one week ago . "In view of steady samarium oxide 99 . 9%min prices, I forecasted that the Chinese samarium metal 99 . 5%min mainstream prices would continue standing at current levels in the coming week in spite of weak demand from consumers," said the producer.
With an annual production capacity of 250t of samarium metal 99.5%min, the producer's outputs in 2023 and so far in 2024 recorded approximately 112t and 12t respectively . He expected to produce around six tons in March, a slight increase of around one ton MoM . He holds around eight tons of stocks now, up by two tons MoM.
A consumer in Zhejiang province noted that their regular samarium metal 99.5%min suppliers still quoted about RMB82/kg (USD11.4/kg) EXW T/T 30 days for them this Monday. According to their experience, they could purchase at around RMB81/kg (USD11.3/kg) now, in line with one week ago. They concluded their latest procurement early this month, when they bought five tons at around RMB81/kg (USD11.3/kg) . "We don't face difficulty in replenishing stocks and have no plan to purchase again in the coming week," said the consumer, who couldn't bargain for cheaper prices from suppliers and predicted that the Chinese samarium metal 99 . 5%min market would see further stable prices in the coming week.
