Baogang Group sees 26.12% increase in 2023 rare earth mining quotas

Baotou Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (Baogang Group) has received the second batch of rare earth mining quota from the local natural resources bureau. This came after Chinese government issued the third batch of rare earth mining, smelting and separation quotas. In 2023, the total rock type rare earth mining quota received by Baogang Group increased by 26.12% versus last year.
The company said it will continue to ramp up rare earth concentrate production by further developing Bayan Obo mine, as Baotou aims to grow into China's largest rare earth new material base and the world's leading rare earth application base. Apart from exploiting rare earth and iron ore resources, the company will further advance the development of niobium and scandium resources, and help to promote the expansion of the fluorine chemical industry.
