Youngy Group to develop project capable of recycling of 500ktpa of waste lithium battery

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) for a waste power lithium battery recycling and cascade utilization project developed by Hefei Rongjie Power Battery Recycling Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Youngy Investment Holding Group, was recently released for public disclosure.
With a total investment of around RMB5.5 billion (USD771 million), the project will build workshops and production lines for recycling and disassembling waste batteries, with a processing capacity of 500,000 tonnes per annum. When completed, the project is able to produce 2GW of recycled battery, 30,000t of NCM precursor, 20,000t of industrial grade lithium carbonate, 70,000t of iron phosphate and 100,000t of carbon anode material annually.
