  • Yongda Steel to replace steel capacity of 1.65Mtpa

    In accordance with relevant guidelines and implementation measures issued by the State Council, the steel production capacity replacement scheme by Wuzhou Yongda Steel Group has been made public by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi.

    According to the scheme, Yongda Steel plans to build two 55-ton electric furnaces and one 110-ton electric furnace for a total steel-making capacity of 1.645 million tons per annum (Mtpa), including 820,000tpa of alloy steel, through a capacity replacement program.

    Construction of the new furnaces are scheduled to begin in January 2024, with production expected in January 2026.
