Guizhou Jiashang starts trial production at 250ktpa cathode materials project

Guizhou Jiashang New Energy Material Co., Ltd. commenced trial production at the phase one of its 250,000tpa lithium battery cathode materials project located at Dalong Development Zone in Guizhou.
The project, signed in June 2021, covers a land area of more than 400Mu (26.67 hectares) and will build production lines and associated facilities with annual production capacity of 100,000t of lithium manganese oxide (LMO), 40,000t of ternary cathode material, 10,000t of lithium cobalt oxides (LCO) cathode material, and 100,000t of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode material.
With a total investment of RMB2.5 billion (USD343 million), the project consists of two phases. The first phase with capacity of 100,000tpa of LMO went into trial production recently and the field engineering for phase two has been completed. When fully operational, the whole project is expected to achieve an annual production value of RMB30 billion (USD4.11 billion), along with tax contribution of at least RMB100 million (USD13.71 million), and would create more than 700 new jobs.
