Baotou reports 3.6% increase in Jan-Aug rare earth compound production

China's Baotou city achieved a 23% increase in industrial added value above the designated size for the first eight months of 2023, recording a two-digit growth for 36 consecutive months, according to official data.
From January to August, Baotou's production of monocrystal silicon and polysilicon increased by 61.6% and 430% respectively from the prior year period. Aluminum products output increased by 100.9% YoY and iron ore (raw ore) production rose by 3.8% YoY. The city also reported an 3.6% and 87.8% increase respectively in the production of rare earth compound and rare earth mineral ores during the period.
