China's MIIT reports H1 lithium battery materials production

In the first half of 2023, China produced about 1 million tonnes of cathode materials, 670,000 tonnes of anode materials, 6.8 billion square meters of diaphragm and 440,000 tonnes of electrolyte solution used for lithium battery, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
During the first half of the year, the production of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide reached 205,000 tonnes and 140,000 tonnes respectively, and the H1 average price of battery grade lithium carbonate and battery grade hydroxide lithium (micro powder) was RMB332,000/t (USD46,297/t) and RMB364,000/t (USD50,759/t) respectively.
