China sees stable expansion in public charging infrastructure

China added 67,000 more public charging piles in April compared with March, with an year-on-year increase of 52.0%, indicating a steady expansion in public charging infrastructure, according to the latest data released by China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance.
As of the end of April 2023, members of the Alliance reported nearly 2.03 million public charging piles in total, including 850,000 DC charging piles, 1,169,000 AC charging piles. From May 2022 to April 2023, about 59,000 public charging piles were added every month on average.
China added charging infrastructure of about 882,000 units in the first four months of 2023 and the number of public charging piles increased by 167.7% YoY. By the end of April 2023, China had a total of 6.09 million charging facilities.
