Ganfeng Lithium to invest RMB2.5 billion in new energy lithium battery production and R&D project

Ganfeng Lithium announced on May 12 that its subsidiary Ganfeng LiEnergy intends to invest RMB2.5 billion (USD359 million), among which fixed asset investment is no less than RMB1.25 billion (USD179 million), in a new-energy lithium battery production and R&D project in Xiangyang.
The project, covering an area of about 240mu, targets to build a production and packaging base for 5 gigawatt hours of new energy lithium cell per annum and will start commercial production by the end of December 2023 after arranging equipment and personnel to enter the site in May 2023.
