GACC: China's steel product exports up by 55% YOY in Jan-Apr

According to latest data released by General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China exported about 28.01 million tons of steel products in the first four months of 2023, up by 55.0% YOY; the export amount went up by 32.8% YOY to USD33.89 billion. China's steel product exports in April reached about 7.93 million tons, up by 0.5% MOM and 59.4% YOY; the export amount stood at USD8.71 billion during the month, down by 14.7% MOM while up by 22.2% YOY.
China's total imports of steel products declined by 40.1% YOY to about 2.50 million tons in the first four months of 2023; the import amount was USD4.31 billion during the period, declining by 31.4% YOY. The imports for steel products in April stood at 585,000 tons, down by 14.2% MOM and 39.8% YOY; the import amount was about USD1.04 billion, down by 8.7% MOM and 31.2% YOY.
