CAAM: China's auto sales up by 24% MOM in Mar

On April 11, data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed that in March, China's auto production and sales completed 2.584 million units and 2.451 million units, respectively, with a month-on-month increase of 27.2% and 24%, and a year-on-year increase of 15.3% and 9.7%, respectively. From January to March, China's auto production and sales recorded 6.21 million units and 6.076 million units respectively, down by 4.3% and 6.7% YOY respectively.
In March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 674,000 units and 653,000 units respectively, with a year-on-year growth of 44.8% and 34.8% and a market share of 26.6%. From January to March, the production and sales of new energy vehicles posted 1.65 million units and 1.586 million units respectively, with a growth of 27.7% and 26.2% YOY respectively and a market share of 26.1%.
