Aerospace Lithium Battery breaks ground on 26-billion-yuan megafactory

On March 15, Aerospace Lithium Battery Co., Ltd. broke ground on its megafactory in Tianmen with a total investment of RMB26 billion (USD3.78 billion), making it the largest investment project in the city so far.
With a planned land area of 3,000 Mu (200 hectares), the project will develop an integrated industrial base with annual production capacity of 50GWh of large cylindrical LFP cells and packs used for energy storage products, commercial vehicle batteries and shared batteries. It will also produce cathode materials, anode materials and diaphragm materials, etc.
The project consists of three phases, and the phase one with investment estimated at RMB4.7 billion (USD683 million) will have an annual production capacity of 5GWh of cells and 5GWh of battery packs.
