China's Jiangxi takes actions on vital mineral resource management

According to the Special Action Implementation Plan on Mineral Resource Protection, Development and Utilization issued by Jiangxi Province recently, given that some strategic mineral prices hover at high levels and illegal mining activities show up again driven by improper profits recently, the province sets out to carry out special projects to improve further the protection, development and utilization of mineral resources in the whole region.
The plan mentions to restrain illegal acts, such as unlicensed exploration and mining, unauthorized mining, mineral resource waste, ecological environmental damage, as well as illegal occupation of arable land, forest and natural reserves, and hold up illegal mining practices in the name of environmental governance, mine rehabilitation, land management, engineering construction, etc., by means of concentrated improvement and management on mineral resources, especially tungsten, rare earth and lithium.
