Fengyuan Chemical announced recently that on February 24, the Board of Directors of the company reviewed and approved the Proposal on Investment and Construction of 100ktpa lithium battery cathode material LFP project. The investment item is the second phase construction of 200ktpa lithium battery high-energy cathode materials and supporting related projects. The site is located in Hongta Industrial Park of Yuxi, covering an area of not more than 40.69 acres, and with the investment of not more than RMB2 billion (USD288 million), the item will be implemented specifically by Fengyuan (Yunnan) Lithium Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fengyuan Lithium Energy.
The Phase I project of 200ktpa lithium battery high-energy cathode materials and supporting related projects includes "50ktpa LFP cathode material and 1ktpa clay lithium extraction pilot line project". As of the announcement date, the production line of 50ktpa LFP cathode material has been completed and entered the pilot production stage; The 1ktpa clay lithium extraction pilot line project is under construction.
