According to data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in January 2023, China's auto production reached 1.594 million vehicles, down by 33.1% month on month and 34.3% year on year, and auto sales amounted to 1.649 million vehicles, down by 35.5% month on month and 35% year on year, respectively. Meanwhile, the total output and sales of new energy vehicles were 425,000 vehicles and 408,000 vehicles, respectively, down by 46.6% and 49.9% month on month, down by 6.9% and 6.3% year on year, accounting for about 24.7% of the total market.
In the given month, China's passenger car production reached 1.397 million vehicles, down by 34.3% from the previous month and 32.9% compared to prior comparative period, while the sales volume totaled 1.469 million vehicles, down by 35.2% month on month and 32.9% year on year.
