LG Energy Solution to invest USD450 million to build 4680 battery production lines in South Korea

LG Energy Solution announced this Monday that it plans to invest KRW582 billion (USD453 million) to build infrastructure in its Ochang-based plant in South Korea for the production of 4680 batteries. Besides the new production lines of 9GWh, LG Energy Solution will also invest KRW150 billion to expand the existing 2170 battery production lines and the newly-added production capacity is expected to be 4GWh. These new production lines will start commercial production in the second half of 2022.
