China's EV power battery installation down by 38.0% MoM in April

According to latest data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance on May 11, about 13.3 GWh of power batteries in China were installed in electric vehicles in April 2022, up by 58.1% YoY, down by 38.0% MoM. In the first four months of the year, a total of 64.5GW power batteries were installed in electric vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 104.1%.
The top five EV makers applying most power batteries in April were Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), BYD, China Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. (CALB), Gotion High-Tech, Sunwoda Electronic. CATL ranked first with 5.08GWh of power batteries installed, followed by BYD with 4.27GWh, accounting for 38.28% and 32.18% of the total batteries installed for the month, respectively.
