Wanhua Chemical to invest in building lithium-ion battery R&D pilot project

Wanhua Chemical published its EIA result for lithium-ion battery material R&D pilot project recently. The company will rent the current plant and workshop of Yantai Zhuoneng Battery Materials Co., Ltd. and will focus on lab-scale R&D for NCM precursor, cathode material, anode material, zirconium dioxide ceramic material as well as pilot-scale R&D for zirconium dioxide, soft-pack battery cell, NCM precursor and cathode material. With a total investment of about RMB73.65 million (USD11.34 million), the project expects to go into operation in June.
