GEM signs cooperation MOU with South Korean company on high-nickel precursor material project

GEM announced on April 12 that its subsidiary Fu'an Q ingmei Energy Materials Co., Ltd. signed a cooperationMOU with South Korean company ECOPRO on setting up a joint venture on NCA & NCM high-nickel precursor business.
According to the MOU, by June 2020 ECOPRO and Fu'an Qingmei Energy Materials will set up a JV in Qingmeiyuan district, Fu'an city with their stake respectively to be 51% and 49%; focusing upon production of NCA and NCM, the JV aims to reach an output of 24,000t by 2022 and 48,000t by 2024. In particular, supply of nickel and cobalt raw materials and auxiliary materials and supply of electricity, water and steam will be based upon existing supply capacity in the district; and Fu'an Qingmei Energy Materials and its shareholders will help supply MHP, crystallized nickel sulfate and crystallized cobalt sulfate to the JV.
