Rare Earth New Material Application Industrialization and R&D Center settled in Baotou

On April 12, the signing ceremony of the project Inner Mongolia introduction of talents was held in Shanghai. Baotou Materials Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Baotou Rare Earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone and Shanghai Huaming Gona Rare Earth New Materials Co. Ltd. (SHGRENM) signed the cooperative agreement to build Baotou Rare Earth New Material High-end Application Industrialization and R&D Center (the Center), which symbolized that the Center was officially settled in Baotou New Material Industrial Park of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Later, the three parties which focus on rare earth new material technology application will jointly apply for scientific research and development and industrialization projects of Baotou city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and China to cooperatively construct projects with an annual capacity of 4,000t of Y-Zr ceramic composite powder used for rear cover of mobile, 4,000t of Al-Ce-Zr rare earth composite catalyst and 3,000t of high-precision rare earth polishing powder and rare earth ceramic composite material, and create a demonstration base of high-performance rare earth new material application. The output value will reach RMB900 million and account for about 15% of the market shares after these projects go into operation.
Moreover, the three parties will concentrate superior resources and strive to build a first-ranking R&D center for rare earth new material technology innovation and application promotion which owns advantages in this region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and even China to attract more excellent persons and potential projects to assemble in Baotou, which can help perfect rare earth new material industrial chain and promote the development of rare earth industry in Baotou.
