Jiuyuan District of Baotou City speeds up construction of rare earth new material industrial park

Prioritizing three development fields including macromolecular material, ultra-pure ferrite stainless steel and rare earth, Jiuyuan District of Baotou City sped up construction of its rare earth new material industrial park ("the Park") in 2017 and also introduced into itself both upstream and downstream projects in order to facilitate expansion of the industrial chains. During the year, 36 industrial projects were agreed upon to go to the park, which involved a total investment of around RMB26 billion and were expected to realize a tax revenue of RMB2 billion and production value of RMB28 billion.
In the field of rare earth new materials, the Park absorbed the Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Hefa Rare Earth project of an investment of RMB200 million; and the 500tpy rare earth pigment Industrialization project in cooperation with Inner Mongolia Kalesi Green Rare Earth Pigment Co., Ltd., which is the sole cerium sulphide producer in China, and the project is expected to realize an annual tax revenue of RMB60 million when going into operation.
