On December 18, JUC held the ground-breaking ceremony in Jiangmen (China) for its greenfield production site for cathode materials used in Li-Ion rechargeable batteries.
Belgian-based Umicore Group is a leading technology material company in the world with sales revenue of EUR2.7 billion (metal value excluded) in 2016. JUC is a sino-foreign joint venture which produces high-performance cathode materials used in lithium batteries and precursor, and is set up by Belgian Group and Jiamen Changxin Technology Co., Ltd. together. The new project of Umicore Group covers an area of about 33.33 hectares in Gaoxin District. The company plans to build the world's largest lithium battery production base for new energy vehicles and makes it core industrial base of new energy vehicle materials all over the world.
