MIIT along with Ministry of Land and Resources conducts inspections on rare earth companies

From 7 to 14 September, 2017, specialists from the Raw Material Industry Department (rare earth department) of MIIT and Mineral Development of Ministry of Land and Resources conducted on-site inspections on rare earth mining, smelting separation and trading companies in Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, Fujian and other provinces (regions), with local staff of MIIT and Ministry of Land and Resources participating this inspection.
19 companies including North Rare Earth Group, Bayan Nur City Yinhai New Material Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Rare Earth Mineral Industry Co., Ltd., Ganxian Jinying Rare Earth Industry Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Nanhuan Rare Earth Overall Smelting Co., Ltd, and Fujian Changting Golden Dragon Rare-Earth Co., Ltd. were inspected. Combined with the traceability system data of rare earth products, the raw material procurement, production and sales ledger and financial data were checked, and samples were collected for detection. Through verification, some plants in some regions ordered to suspend production in regulation process before were found resuming production illegally, individual enterprises bought illegal mineral products and other problems.
The inspection team exchanged views timely with relevant local staff on the above issues, and required to seriously deal with enterprises with problems in strict accordance with special rectification requirements as soon as possible, especially those of illegal resumption and illegally purchasing and processing of rare earth products, to trace accountability of relevant companies and the man at the wheel according to law.
