Hefei to shut down environmentally unqualified plants to control air pollution

Approved and modified by Board of Managing Directors of Hefei City Government, an implementation plan on controlling air pollution is officially printed and carried out. In 2017, Hefei will carry out 10 problem-addressing actions including industrial air pollution abatement, motor vehicle pollution prevention, flowing dust (smoke dust) pollution prevention, and agricultural non-point source pollution control to keep the average concentrate of PM10 in Hefei at 80ug/m3, improve air quality persistently, and make it to the top ten cities in Anhui on air quality.
Before the end of August, Hefei will conduct overall investigation and evaluation on key industries including iron and steel, thermal power, cement and waste incineration plant in the whole city, and the companies who cannot reach requirements with serious problems will be required to shut down.
