Baotou owns first national model for mass innovation and business startup in Inner Mongolia

At a recent State Council executive meeting, the second namelist of national models for mass innovation and business startup was publicized. Baotou Rare-earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone stood in the list and thus became the first national model for mass innovation and business startup in Inner Mongolia.
In the past years, Baotou Rare-earth High-tech Industrial Development Zone has made breakthroughs in mass innovation and business startup. Within the Zone, there are over 20 business incubators, including one national-level technical business incubator, three national-level mass innovation platforms, seven provincial-level mass innovation platforms, and three production bases on high-tech industries, deep processing of rare-earth new materials and advertisement industry. The Zone also boasts 63 research centers and engineering technology centers set up by companies, covering rare-earth new materials, high-tech equipment manufacturing, new energy, biological technology, energy-saving and environmental protection, big data and other emerging industries. Of the 63 company research centers, there are three national-level centers, two centers built jointly by national and provincial companies, and 31 provincial-level centers. Besides, the Zone also has technical transformation platforms such as Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths, Baotou Rare Earth Research and Development Center under China Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Baotou Materials Institute.
