China's pig iron output down by 0.1% YOY to 61.73 million tons in May

According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, China’s pig iron output decreased by 0.1% YOY to 61.73 million tons in May; the pig iron output totaled 300.47 million tons in the first five months of the year, up by 3.3% YOY. The Chinese crude steel output reached 72.26 million tons in May, up by 1.8% compared with that in the same period last year; total output of crude steel rose by 4.4% YOY to 346.83 million tons from January to May. In addition, China produced 95.78 million tons of steel in the month, recording a decline of 1.9% YOY, and its steel output amounted to 453.68 million tons in the first five months of the year.
