Several departments of Shanghang County jointly demolish an illegal rare earth mining site

On May 12th, Public Security Bureau, Land Department and other departments of Shanghang County, Longyan City, Fujian Province, jointly demolished a large illegal rare earth mining site and seized water section pumps, dynamos, electric wires and other tools.
It is reported that Zhongdu Police Station under Public Security Bureau of Shanghang County discovered that there was a large illegal rare earth mining site in the junction area between Zhongdu town and Yongding district when they conducted clue investigations on cases related to guns and explosives. The police station then conducted activities jointly with Land Department and other departments of the county and seized 2 trucks for rare earth ores transportation, 2 motorcycles, over 30 bags of rare earth ores which had been mined illegally, water section pumps, dynamos, electric wires and other tools. The mining site was demolished, but the criminal suspects escaped. Currently, the case has been transferred to Land Department for further investigation.
