Progress of key rare earth projects under construction in Ganzhou in February

1. National Engineering Research Center of Efficient Utilization of Iron Rare Earth Resources
Project I: R&D building, personnel dormitory and supporting projects, with a total investment of RMB85 million. Up to this month, the progress of the project is as follows: ① Lab construction completed; some equipment of pilot production line installed and debugged; ② Round-off work on the infrastructure project at this stage; hardening ground surface of R&D building; ③ Waiting for acceptance check notice from the Ministry of Science and Technology; preparing related documents for the check.
Project II: Pilot production line construction project with a total investment of RMB60 million. Progress is as follows: ① Youli Science and Technology’s pre-treatment workshop and precipitation workshop in production; ② G, H, I production lines in the extraction workshop being debugged with other extraction lines in production.
2. Jiangxi Quantong Rare Earth New Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
Ceramic metal halide (CMH) lamp project with an annual capacity of 10 million and a total investment of RMB233.7 million. Progress is as follows: ① Lamps along two roads in the industrial park have been powered and passed acceptance check; ② Installation of street lamps in the National Engineering Research Center of Efficient Utilization of Iron Rare Earth Resources has passed the acceptance check; ③ The English name of the CMH lamp was rejected because of similar design, and thus its English name has to be redesigned; ④ The company is preparing for the CQC certification.
3. Longnan Yuran Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
20,000tpy iron oxide red project with a total investment of RMB150 million. Progress is as follows: ① Round-off work on the construction; completing construction of outer wall; preparing for fixing ceramic tiles; around 1/4 of workshop’s roof capped; ② 1/3 of low voltage power distribution system of the plant completed with entire system expected to be installed in mid-March; Contract for high voltage power distribution system signed with the construction to commence; ③ Design of ammonia recovery system and automatic control system completed with contract expected to be signed in mid-March.
4. Ganzhou Qifei New Material Co., Ltd.
Acid soluble workshop technical transformation project with a total investment of around RMB2.18 million. Progress is as follows: ① Acid soluble workshop already put into use and expected to pass acceptance check in March.
5. Longnan Longyi Heavy Rare-Earth Technology Co., Ltd.
Technical transformation project of multiple heat-resistance, corrosion-resistance, wear-resistance high performance material production line with an annual capacity of 40,000t of yttrium; total planned investment of RMB200 million, including RMB150 million of fixed assets investment and RMN50 million of circulating fund. Progress is as follows: Hardening workshop’s floor; connecting power and water; infrastructure projects carried out simultaneously; ② large equipment investment with most equipment to be imported; further financing needed for lack of cash.
6. Ganzhou Motaike Tool and Mould Co., Ltd.
New material tool and mould production line with an annual capacity of 60,000 sets and total planned investment of RMB29.5 million. Progress is as follows: ① Receiving feedback on finished mould, optimizing products; ② Completing initial mold production performance optimization scheme, realizing small-scale production; ③ A batch of finished mould to be produced.
7. Ganzhou Zhonglan Rare Earth New Material Science and Technology Co., Ltd.
Production line with estimated capacity of 20tpy of new nitride red fluorescent powder and 100tpy of YAG yellow fluorescent powder under construction. Progress is as follows: ① Workshop interlayer almost completed; ② Drawings regarding to positioning of high temperature and high pressure furnace from Shenyang Weitai as well as workshop reformation already delivered to infrastructure department; positioning and debugging to be conducted following the completion of the transformation; ③ Equipment from Shanghai Chenhua and Jiangsu Qianjin in production and to be transported to the workshop within one or two months; ④ Contacting producers for quotations for fluorescence spectroscopy, LED powder detection equipment, vacuum glove boxes and other equipment; procurement expected to be completed in mid-to-late March.
