Vietnamese HRC price increases continuously

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Jul 13 - The current price of HRC SS400 3.0mm*1,250mm*C in Vietnam is VND13,000,000-13,200,000/t (USD612-622/t, VAT included). Traders show that the increasing price trend is continuously supported by higher offers from Chinese suppliers.
An HRC trader from Ho Chi Minh City reports to Asian Metal that the price of SS400 3.0mm*1,250mm*C is VND13,000,000/t (USD613/t, VAT included), VND20,000/t higher than that of the previous week.
The official report from the World Bank showed that the inflation rate in Vietnam at the end of the month is likely to be 8.5%, which is still higher than local government’s expectation. “Under such a general economic situation, HRC price is still likely to increase as one of the bulk commodities,” reveals the source.
An HRC trader from Viet Tri shows that the price of SS400 3.0mm*1,250mm*C is about VND13,200,000/t (USD622/t, VAT included), up by VND20,000/t over that of the previous week.
The source reveals to Asian Metal that he failed to get the order for above-mentioned materials at USD536/t CFR from Chinese suppliers. “They are offering USD550-560/t CFR, which are about USD30/t higher than that of last month, ” he says. Supported by that, local HRC traders also hike quotations. About the following market, he thinks the price is likely to be stable after learning the stable price in China.
