On 1 November, Yunnan Germanium noted that the company supplies optical fiber grade germanium products and GaAs chip to customers now and whether to increase supply in future is uncertain as it depends on market demand and other factors.
Presently, the 2-6 inch semiconductor grade and semi-insulator GaAs chip and substrate of Yunnan Germanium are widely used in nanometer grade semiconductor integrated circuit and LED general lighting industry. The company has a design annual capacity of 800,000 pieces of 4 inch GaAs chip. Besides, the company also successfully put the world-leading 2-4 inch indium phosphide substrate production line into operation.
