During the visit, Paul Kopejtka gave a brief introduction to the bauxite project in Guinea. AMC is headquartered in Perth, Australia and focuses on the development of Koumbia Bauxite Project located in Boké Region in the Republic of Guinea in West Africa . The Koumbia Bauxite Project is a world class bauxite development project with a JORC (2012) resource of 2 . 14 billion tonnes of bauxite (Al2O3 44%min on average), including 900 million tonnes of high-quality bauxite (Al2O3 48 . 1%min) . The project is now in construction stage following the completion of the DFS and engineering design and is expected to produce more than 10 million tonnes of bauxite from 2020 . AMC owns rich bauxite resources while Baise Mining has the coal-power-aluminum integrated industrial chain . Paul Kopejtka expressed the willingness to combine these advantages by establishing a long-term trade cooperation or carrying out cooperation on the equity investment in Koumbia project.
Baise Mining's primary aluminum production capacity would reach 1.5 million tonnes per year during China's 13th Five-Year Plan, which means a demand for alumina of 3 million tonnes per year . The company plans to launch multiple alumina projects and the demand for bauxite would exceed 6 million tonnes per year . After the meeting, Baise Mining will sent a delegation to Guinea for investigation and research, in order to achieve win-win progress through cooperation and to ensure the sustainable development of the company's aluminum industry.
