BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 16 - Currently, the mainstream prices of South African zircon sand 66%min decline by USD20/t from last week to USD860-1,000/t CIF China, and those of 65%min drop by USD30/t from last week to USD 840-870/t CIF China. South African suppliers move down price to compete for deals and consumers are active to place orders at current low price
A consumer in South China claimed that South African zircon sand 66%min price is on the decline. “Early this week, our suppliers decided to sell the material at around USD860/t CIF China for a batch of 2,000 tons which will be delivered in Q2, down by USD20/t from that of late last week, ” said the source, disclosing many users are eager to make purchases as they think the price touches the bottom.
The consumer used around 700 tons of zircon sands in February, same as that of January, holding about 1,000 tons in hand at the moment.
Another consumer in South China confirmed that South African zircon sand 66%min price slides. “Early this week, our supplier reduced sales price to USD860/t CIF China, seeing a decrease of USD20/t from that of last week . They refused to give lower prices, and finally we accepted it,” said the source, who noted that they plan to buy around 4,000 tons for consumption in Q2.
The consumer used around 500 tons of zircon sands in February, unchanged from that of January, holding around 600 tons of stocks in hand at the time being.
