China's steel imports and exports both decrease in Jul

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Aug 11 - Based on the news released by China Customs on 10th August, the country’s steel imports and exports both declined year on year in July.
This July, China exported 4.44 million tons of finished steel, increasing by 150,000 tons month on month but decreasing by 2 . 42 percent year on year . Meanwhile, the export volume totaled 28 . 77 million tons in the first 7 months, rising by 2 . 3 percent over that of the corresponding period of last year.
In addition, China imported 1.24 million tons of finished steel in July, rising by 40,000 tons over that of June but decreasing by 11 . 43 percent year on year . In the meantime, the total import volume in January-July decreased by 5 . 7 percent to 9 . 27 million tons compared with that of the same period of the previous year.

This July, China did not export steel billet but the import volume was 40,000 tons. In the first 7 months of the current year, China imported 320,000 tons of steel billet, rising by 3 . 6 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, China exported 180,000 tons of coke in July, 140,000 tons less than that of June. Meanwhile, the total export volume in the first 7 months increased by 32 . 5 percent to 2 . 63 million tons on the year-on-year basis.
This July, China imported 54.55 million tons of iron ore, increasing by 3 . 46 million tons month on month, with a yearly growth of 6 . 54 percent . In January-July, the total import volume increased by 7 . 9 percent to 388 . 63 million tons year on year.
