BEIJING (Asian Metal) 27 Sep 06 - Real time buying in selenium market has not shown any improvement after bumping up to around USD24-26/lb, and sources believe this week might continue to see stable price resting on equilibrium fundamentals on demand and supply.
As the stable price goes, fear that the price might slack if demand shift a little bit from the present level is tearing the market apart, but some big time dealers believe the present price is comfortable for both suppliers and consumers, and might not slide in a short time.
A European trader confirmed the price has remained stable at around USD24-26/lb but they did small quantities of the material at around USD27/lb back-to-back business.
“The market is not booming as expected by participants who are entertaining fear of the price tumbling to earth if stable price persist for a long time,” said the source. “This week I have not seen any good sign of the price edging up . ”
However, sources are still expecting the market to see more buying from Chinese as the year closes in.
